5th Annual Rotary Sunrise Auction Benefits Pediatrics

The Rotary Club of Brantford-Sunrise recently presented the BCHS Foundation with a donation of $55,151.28 from their 5th annual online auction.

The annual Rotary Sunrise online auction has now raised more than $211,000.00 for Pediatric Services at the Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS). The updated total was announced this week as the Club transitioned to a new Rotary year, with the swearing-in of 2025-26 President Susan Brown.

President Susan gave an overview of the auction, which raised $156,000.00 in it’s first 4 years. The proceeds of the 2025 Auction were $45,151.00. Rotary’s work inspired the family foundation of a physician at the hospital to match the first $10,000.00, raising this year’s donation to the Pediatric Assessment and Referral Service (PARS.) at BCHS to $55,151.28. This brings the 5-year total to $211.151.28.

President Susan thanked everyone for all their work in making the auction a huge success, including the donors of auction items, the bidders, and club members. A special thank you to Club Ambassadors, Dave Levac and Phil McColeman, who loaned their faces and voices to billboard and radio advertising. Online Auction Chair, Jerry Lawlor, assisted by Past President John, presented BCHS Foundation Executive Director, Kari Wilson, and Amy Griesser, Clinical Manager for N.I.C.U./Paediatrics, D.E.C. (Diabetic Education Centre) with a cheque for the proceeds of this year’s auction.
