Brynleigh Stickle-McCully makes a difference to the future of healthcare

Young philanthropist, eight year old Brynleigh Stickle-McCully was inspired to make a difference in our community.

Beginning in the summer of 2020, Brynleigh created and ran a bottle drive fundraiser, “collecting empties to raise money for the Brantford General Hospital”. She started with an ambitious goal of raising $1000, and far exceeded that raising an incredible $1600 to support health care in our community.

Brynleigh’s mom, Kristal told us “We started out counting a few empties to help support her math development when schools pivoted to online learning and it just kept growing. A few posts on instagram and facebook and we instantly saw overwhelming community support. She just kept collecting and in 2 short months her total climbed to $1600.”

When we spoke with Brynleigh about where she would like the money to be donated, she wanted the money to go to “the new hospital”, it is clear that Brynleigh sees the importance of health care now and for our future. We are so pleased that this young philanthropist has made the first official donation to the “Master Redevelopment” fund to help ensure the future of a strong healthcare system for our local community.

“I think it was a great experience and I hope the money will help build the new part of the hospital so you have more room to help more people” says Brynleigh.

We are so grateful for this wonderful donation which will help Brant Community Healthcare System continue to grow and re-imagine healthcare in our community.
