Farming for Healthcare

Agriculture is a cornerstone of the broader community, spanning Brantford, the County of Brant, Six Nations of the Grand River, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, and surrounding areas. Stewardship, resilience, and supporting one another are values at the heart of agriculture and the same values that sustain compassionate, high-quality healthcare.

The Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) Foundation is proud to introduce Farming for Healthcare, a new signature community initiative that is truly rooted in care and built to strengthen local healthcare at BCHS. Farming for Healthcare transforms agricultural production into meaningful philanthropy. Participating farmers generously donate land, time and expertise to grow designated cash crops. This year, 60 acres of crops will require support from community partners. Proceeds from the harvest will go directly to priority equipment needs at BCHS, helping ensure patients receive care close to home.
