Sobeys West Brant supports Fresh Healthy Eating

Sobeys West Brant location at 310 Colborne Street West in Brantford has teamed up with the BCHS Foundation from Nov. 12 to 25 to support a new campaign entitled Fresh Healthy Eating. This new program targets the need to support healthy meal planning and portion control while raising money for much-needed outpatient educational tools for the Diabetes Education Centre at the Brant Community Healthcare System.

During the promotion, Sobeys West Brant customers who make a point of sale donation can take home a Plan Your Portions visual meal-planning aid containing helpful healthy eating information focused on portion control and dietary balance.

The money raised from the Fresh Healthy Eating campaign will help to support the Diabetes Education Centre and purchase useful community educational tools such as:

– Tablet computers to demonstrate menu planning and food tracking apps
– Food models to showcase portion sizes
– Storybooks to educate children dealing with diabetes
– Flexbands to encourage exercise
