#ThankfulThursday gives the Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) Foundation a regular opportunity to recognize and thank the important individuals, businesses and organizations in our community that help to make a difference to the quality and effectiveness of our local healthcare system.


This week’s Thankful Thursday features:

Open and Old Timer NBC Hockey Leagues

Hockey Challenge
BCHS Foundation Board of Directors Heather Wilson, Lisa Ligori and Board Chair Chris McCurdy accept a donation cheque for $4,375 from the Open and Old Timer NBC Hockey Leagues. The funds were raised from their participation in the BCHS Foundation Hockey Challenge program.

The BCHS Foundation challenged Brantford and area’s Old Timer and Open NBC Hockey League teams to a Hockey Challenge and raise money for patient equipment purchases at the Brantford General and The Willett, Paris throughout the month of January.

Both leagues responded with individual and corporate donations in the amount of an incredible $4,375! Well done and THANK YOU to everyone who participated, and to Chris McCurdy, the BCHS Foundation Board Chair, for spearheading this successful fundraising initiative!

Here are some statistics to be thankful for:

The top three donating Old Timer league teams:

Van Farms with $770
Cable Assembly Systems with $720
Chiropractic Health Services with $520

The top three donating Open teams:

Mortgage Financial with $500
Abcott Construction with $255
CJ Cooper with $230

Total Dollars raised: $4,375.00
