New Hospital Site Identification Process

The Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) is working on a major project to build a new hospital to keep up with how fast Brantford and Brant County are growing. Some of our hospital buildings are nearly 100 years old and are no longer ideal for modern care. This process is about making sure our patients continue to receive the best care possible, now and into the future.
The BCHS announced that a local, independent Task Force has been empowered to lead the site search. This is to ensure that the process is fair and transparent, and will have the community’s needs in mind. This Task Force will be running a call for land, and will also be responsible for evaluating all potential sites that come forward as part of the process. The Task Force will then make a recommendation to the BCHS Board of Directors for their decision.
In the coming weeks, you’ll start to see opportunities to share your thoughts on what’s important to consider when identifying a site for a new hospital, and the best place to find all the important information is on the Reimagine BCHS website. If you have specific thoughts or questions, you can email them to reimagine.bchs@bchsys.org.
