Hope for Healthcare Campaign Supports Emergency Care at the Brantford General Hospital

The Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) Foundation is excited to announce the launch of its annual Hope for Healthcare holiday campaign. “This is the 4th year of this critical program to raise funds for the Emergency Department (ED) Renovation Improvement Project” says Kari Wilson, Executive Director of the BCHS Foundation. “All donations to this campaign will directly benefit the purchase of patient equipment and technology for the expanded ED space.”

In July 2023, the ED project entered “Stage 3 – Construction” when the Ontario Government invested over $28 million into the project. The BCHS Foundation is responsible for raising in excess of $8 million to cover 10% of construction costs and the purchase of medical equipment and furnishings for the space.

“Thanks to the incredible generosity of Foundation donors, we have already raised $6.2 million towards this project” notes Dr. Lee Ferrao, Chair of the BCHS Foundation. “We are in the final stretch of fundraising and are calling for your help now to make a renewed Emergency Department a reality for our community.”

This year, Mott Manufacturing has come forward as the matching donor for the 2023 Hope for Healthcare campaign. “Mott Manufacturing is proud to give back to the communities we serve and support this year’s holiday appeal by matching donations dollar for dollar up to $100,000” says Ed Seegmiller, CEO of Mott Manufacturing. “Our company believes in the importance of a strong local healthcare system for our community, available when our employees and families need it most.”

“We are incredibly grateful to Mott Manufacturing for being our 2023 matching donor” says Wilson. “Every donation in any denomination makes a real difference, and we hope that this matching contribution will inspire our community to give a gift that is meaningful to them and invest in their healthcare system this holiday season.”

The Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) is the lead provider of emergency medical care and services for Brantford, Brant County, Six Nations of the Grand River, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and surrounding areas.
