Alfred Hauk, President Kiwanis Club of Brantford; Heather Wilson, Past Chair BCHS Foundation; Kari Wilson, Executive Director BCHS Foundation; and Ken McNaughton, BCHS Foundation Board Member and Kiwanian.

Recently, members of the Kiwanis Club of Brantford presented a $25,000 donation to the Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) Foundation.

This generous donation will be directed toward the purchase of a birthing bed to benefit the Family Birthing Centre. In the 2022-2023 fiscal year the Brant Community Healthcare System welcomed 1,515 babies into the world. The Family Birthing Centre has 5 labour and delivery rooms available with 2 overflow birthing beds. In addition, there are 15 beds available post-delivery.

These birthing beds are electronically operated and allow for raising and lowering of the mid-section of the mattress as well as head and foot end portions of the bed. The bed includes convenient controls and ergonomic design for both mom and the care provider.

Kiwanis Club of Brantford supports children in our community by raising funds through activities such as the Christmas Campaign, Trivia Night, Ploughman’s Lunch and the Dinner for Two raffle. The Kiwanis Club of Brantford’s total cumulative giving to the BCHS Foundation is over $126,000. In addition, nearly $92,000 was donated through the Kiwanis Brant County Lifeline.

The Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation is so grateful to this incredible group for their generosity and community leadership.
