Donor Stories – Meet Marilyn Sewell

We are excited to introduce Marilyn Sewell, a monthly donor who is committed to making a difference to health care in our community. As a past Chair of the BCHS Foundation Board of Directors, Marilyn has seen first-hand the difference that fundraising has made to the Brant Community Healthcare System.

Marilyn says, “I give a monthly donation because it’s easy!! When I first began to donate to the Foundation I knew I couldn’t give a big one time gift, that just wasn’t in the cards for me. I decided what would be a meaningful gift for me and simply divided that number by 12 and contacted the Foundation staff and that’s it!  Over time, as my circumstances changed and my understanding deepened about the need and the impact of donor dollars, I gradually increased my monthly donation. Again a quick call to the Foundation office is all it took!  I started the practice when I joined the Foundation Board in 2011 and today I’m astounded at the total I’ve been able to contribute, I never would have thought that possible, but it is!  I feel really proud of my monthly donation and humbled that I can make a difference.

Making a monthly gift is an easy way to continuously support a vital part of our community, “monthly donations mean our Foundation staff can budget and respond to immediate equipment needs that come up regularly”, says Marilyn, “truly, if I can do this, anyone can do it!”.
