A New Chapter In Women’s Health at BCHS

The Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) is proud to celebrate the completion of the Vajko Family Breast Assessment Centre, marking a significant milestone in women’s health services for our community.

Through a major investment and donor support, BCHS has transformed its breast imaging services, replacing two aging mammography machines with two new state-of-the-art mammography spaces – now known as the Breast Imaging Suite. This suite now offers more than mammography alone, featuring a new ultrasound room equipped with advanced technology to provide faster, more precise diagnostics.

New patient change rooms and enhanced support spaces were also added to create a more comfortable and seamless experience for patients.

This milestone is also a tribute to Thelma, Jennie, and Isobel Vajko, three sisters and dedicated nurses whose legacy of compassion continues to impact generations of patients. Through Jennie Vajko’s transformative legacy gift to the BCHS Foundation, women in our community will continue to benefit from exceptional care for years to come. The BCHS and BCHS Foundation recently welcomed members of the Vajko Family to commemorate their family’s generous gift and tour the newly renovated space.
